Password Generator

Strong random passwords with length and character controls plus a strength meter.

Generated locally with your browser's secure random generator — nothing is sent anywhere.

About the Password Generator

The Password Generator builds strong random passwords from the character sets you choose — uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols — at any length from 6 to 64 characters, with an option to skip look-alike characters like 0 and O. A strength meter estimates how hard each password would be to crack, and generation uses your browser's secure random source.

How to use it

  1. Set the password length with the slider — 16 or more is a good default.
  2. Choose which character sets to include.
  3. Press Generate new password and check the strength meter.
  4. Copy it straight into the account or your password manager.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a password be?

At least 14–16 characters for important accounts. Length matters more than complexity: a long random password from this generator beats a short complicated one.

Are the generated passwords stored or sent anywhere?

No. Passwords are generated on your device with the browser's secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and are never transmitted or saved — closing the page wipes them.

Should every account have a different password?

Yes. If one site leaks its passwords, reused passwords let attackers into your other accounts. Generate a unique one here for each account and keep them in a password manager.
